When space is limited
CUBIC partner, OOO Universal-Electric, recently completed a main switchboard for a technological line of PhosAgro-Cherepovets, producer of phosphate-based mineral fertilizers, phosphoric and sulphuric acids, aluminium fluoride, ammonia, urea, ammonium nitrate (AN) and other nitrogen-based fertilizers.
To bring it to a new generation capacity a 2500A panel was built, which supplies several sub-switchboards of ventilation and smoke exhaust in case of fire, ignition control etc.
By using the CUBIC Modular System the limited space is utilised in the best possible way. Different functional units in the switchboard are combined in order to find place for the required components. This underlines the versatility achieved by applying the modular system.
The combination of the modular system and Cu-flex has made the construction process of the switchboards both simple and time saving to Universal-Electric.
All mainboards consist of a draw-out and MCCB column. The components of the draw-out column are connected by Cu-flex. These are also applied to connect the busbar trunking system to the busbars.
The customer PhosAgro-Cherepovets has thus achieved a future-proof solution with no maintenance required of the busbar system.
PhosAgro-Cherepovets is the largest producer of phosphate-based fertilizers and phosphoric and sulphuric acids in Europe, and also one of the leading manufacturers of NPK fertilizers, ammona and AN in the Russian chemical industry.
PhosAgro-Cherepovets is Russia’s largest exporter of phosphate-based fertilisers, and supplies countries in Western Europe, Asia, America and Africa.
The enterprise houses an industrial river port used for transport of raw materials and finished products. PhosAgro-Cherepovets has its own generating capacities with an aggregate volume of 134 MW, and is 80% self-sufficient in electricity through recovery of steam heat created by producing sulphuric acid. This makes PhosAgro-Cherepovets a leader within the sector.
The company employs approx. 6,000 people.
